Suspected drunk driver hits, kills motorcyclist on Mound Road, Sterling Heights police say

Driver arrested on charge of operating while intoxicated

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A suspected drunk driver hit and killed a motorcyclist Sunday night on Mound Road in Sterling Heights, police said.

The 21-year-old driver was in a GMC Yukon when it hit the 44-year-old motorcyclist around 10 p.m. as it was stopped at a light near Catalpa Avenue.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the motorcyclist's name.

The SUV driver was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated.
