A suspected serial bank robber in metro Detroit has been arrested.
Roseville and Eastpointe police said they arrested Daniel Stacy Galeener Tuesday on three counts of bank robbery.
Police said they tracked Galeener to the Eastland Motel on Gratiot through the investigation of a woman who was acquainted with him.
He was arrested with a loaded 0.38 caliber handgun.
Earlier in the day, police had released several security camera photos of Galeener to Local 4.
Galeener allegedly robbed a Comerica Bank on Groesbeck Highway and 12 Mile Road early Friday afternoon and a Fifth Third bank branch at Gratiot Avenue and Maryland Street on Monday.
In both robberies, Galeener used a note to demand money and pointed a blue steel revolver at the bank teller.
Police said Galeener got away with small amounts of money during each robbery.
Police said an anti-theft dye pack included in stolen money during Monday's robbery exploded and Galeener left that bag in the bank parking lot.
Galeener is suspected of going to Clinton Township to rob another bank after his attempt at the Fifth Third location failed.
