Godbee had litte to say when he arrived at Metro Airport

ROMULUS, Mich. – Suspended Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee has arrived home from a police chief conference in San Diego amid an alleged sex scandal.

His first steps into McNamara terminal at Detroit Metro Airport were inundated with media to talk to him about the recent scandal that broke while he was out of town. However, he gave little to no response to many questions except, "I have no comment."

Internal Affairs Officer Angelica Robinson, who is married, started tweeting the chief on Saturday claiming he was there with another woman, who is not his wife and not a police officer. Robinson also claimed she and Godbee had been having an affair for more than a year.

After some investigating, Local 4 did learn that Godbee and another woman identified as Merica Patterson were both staying in the same room in San Diego.

Godbee and his wife of 22 years filed divorce papers in early August and appear to have split up back in April.

Mayor Dave Bing has suspended Godbee for 30 days as the matter is investigated.
