TAYLOR, Mich. – A 23-year-old Taylor man has been arrested in connection to the beating of his 6-month-old son.
Taylor police say officers and paramedics were called to a home about 5 p.m. Saturday in the 6600 block of Pine Street after the infant's mother found him having difficulty breathing. She said he was coming in and out of consciousness.
The baby was taken to Detroit Children's Hospital, where he has undergone surgery and remains in critical condition.
Both parents were home at the time. Police interviewed them. The father was arrested and is being held by Taylor police pending a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office for possible charges.
