DETROIT – Detroit police are looking for a man who they say kidnapped a 17-year-old girl from a bus stop and sexually assaulted her.
Police said the girl was at a bus stop Wednesday morning near East Seven Mile Road and Hawthorne Street when a man in his 50s put her in his vehicle, took her to an abandoned home and assaulted her.
He dropped her back off near the bus stop, police said.
The girl's mother got a call from the 17-year old's boyfriend. He was on the phone with her when she was abducted.
"He heard her scream. When he heard her scream he asked her what's wrong and that was the click," said her mother.
Several hours later the attacker dropped her off at her home and sped off.
"When I seen her I ran to the door and she was hysterical. I seen the gray car pull off that he brought her back with," said her mother.
Her grandmother is relieved she survived.
"I was so scared because so many young girls they don't make it. They be dead in abandoned houses. You don't find them," she said.
Police didn't immediately release any other details about the man.
