Teens arrersted after Paint Creek Trail vandalized 2nd time in 2 weeks

Teens admit to vandalism, police say

ORION TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Five Independence Township teens were arrested Thursday afternoon for vandalism to the Paint Creek Trail in Orion Township.

According to police, a witness saw five people enter the trail with spray paint cans and walk toward the creek. Three 17-year-old females and two 18-year-old females were located by police.

They had spray paint cans and there was spray paint on rocks and trees in the area, police said. They admitted to police that they spray painted the rocks and trees.

The teens were escorted from the trail and identified, police said. They were released from custody after being issued misdemeanor appearance citations for malicious destruction of property and vandalism.

They must appear in the 52nd 3rd Division Court in Rochester Hills within 15 days for arraignment.

This is the second time that the trail has been vandalized with spray paint within the last two weeks.
