DETROIT - A torso that was found Friday on Detroit's east side is being investigated as being possibly connected to the dismemberment of a woman who was found dead last week in a senior housing apartment complex.
The torso was found in a field on Anderdon, three blocks north of Jefferson Avenue.
On May 3, a woman's body was found in pieces in the apartment of 72-year-old Alphonso Jackson.
He's charged with disinterment of a body, tampering with evidence and concealing a death -- but isn't charged with killing the woman.
Police had been combing the immediate area looking for additional body parts since the incident.
