BRIGHTON, Mich. -

A trailer packed with tools was stolen in a Brighton neighborhood

The trailer had thousands of dollars of tools inside, tools that are needed to fix the damage to a home caused by last week's tornado.

After a tornado touchdown last week in the middle of the night in Pam Saylor's neighborhood, she immediately called her brother to help fix the damage at her home.

"He's the one person I know I trust. He's an honest contractor out of Hartland, Mi. He's been in business for 20 years," said Saylor.

Her brother, Daniel Morgan, had his trailer with tools inside parked in Saylor's driveway on Prairie View over the weekend.

Sometime Saturday night a thief drove off with the entire trailer.

"They had to back all the way down the driveway to hook up and pull all the way back out the driveway," said Morgan.

His 20 year career was stored in the $4,000, 12-foot trailer that held $8,000 to $10,000 worth of tools.

The person responsible stole more than just his belonging; they also robbed him of his livelihood.

"I just want to say by doing something malicious like this it doesn't just affect my life," said Morgan.

"You don't do this to someone. My brother is a hardworking man with four kids," said Saylor.

Morgan is still figuring out how he's going to move forward, this caring brother is also thinking about all the work that still needs to be done at his sister's home.

"I have siding and facial repair to do. There is some structural damage we have to address," said Morgan.

State Police are investigating. If you have any information, you're asked to give them a call.
