Trans-Siberian Orchestra coming to Auburn Hills next weekend

TSO coming to Auburn Hills Dec. 27

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Are you ready to rock this Christmas?

"There's something about Christmas Eve that allows us to un-do the mistakes in our lives that we never thought we could un-do," said Trans-Siberian Orchestra Creator Paul O'Neil.

Get ready to experience the magic of the holiday season with lasers, pyro technics and heavy metal guitars. This is Trans-Siberian Orchestra, a show that tells the story of Christmas like you've never heard before. A story that creator Paul O'Neil wanted to tell through music.

"The original plan for TSO was to do 6 rock operas, a trilogy about Christmas," O'Neil said. "Charles Dickens wrote 5 books about Christmas because he said Christmas is too large a subject to take on in just one book."

And so the Christmas Trilogy was born. If you've ever seen this Rock Opera in action – you've seen their performance of 'Christmas Eve & Other Stories' – the trilogy's first installment. But when TSO comes back to metro Detroit Dec. 27th, it will feature a show you've never seen before.

"We're moving faster now," said TSO Narrator Bryan Hicks. "This is the first year for this story 'The Christmas Attic,' and every year the story sort of evolves as the audience evolves, there's nothing else like it."

"This will be the first time we're going to perform the 'Attic' as a rock opera," said Al Pitrelli of TSO. "The set is different than anyone has ever seen before, it's different than anything we've ever done."

The 'Christmas Attic' is the story of a young girl who sneaks into her parent's attic and discovers a magical world of ornaments, toys and bundles of handwritten letters. The discovery leads to a Christmas adventure, one TSO can't wait to take you on, live on stage.

"It's a variety of music, you'll hear everything," said Jon Oliva of TSO. "It's the best live rock concert you'll ever see."

Trans-Siberian Orchestra will wrap up 2014 by performing their rock opera The Christmas Attic live for the first time with two shows at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday, Dec. 27 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
