Troy PD seeks public's assistance in identifying man who assaulted woman taking out trash

TROY, Mich. – Police released a sketch of man who assaulted a woman in Troy while she was taking out the trash.

The incident was reported in the Sept. 18 at about 10 p.m. in the 2000 block of Crooks Road.

As the woman exited her apartment, she noticed a man carrying an object in his hand. As she walked toward the dumpster, the man put on a black ski mask and followed her, breaking into a sprint and running after her.

When the man caught up to the woman, he grabbed her arm and said, “Shhh, don’t say anything.”

The victim screamed and the man let go of her arm, fleeing on foot.

The man was described as white, 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, heavy set and has straight light brown short hair. He was last seen wearing a black and gray sweatshirt and khaki shorts.
