TROY, Mich. - Troy police say a 43-year-old man was arrested Friday on the suspicion of drunken driving with a 5-year-old child and for fleeing the scene of an accident.
Police said the suspect was stopped at Bellingham and Maple roads after officers got a call that he had left the scene of an accident.
The driver failed sobriety tests and empty liquor bottles, marijuana and a pipe were found in the car, police said.
The suspect was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, failing to stop at an accident, child endangerment and operating while intoxicated.
Police said the suspect has "several" prior convictions for drunken driving.
