Trump announces Pence as running mate on Twitter

Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump took to twitter Friday morning and announced that he has chosen Gov. Mike Pence (IN) as his running mate.

A news conference will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.

Rumored candidates included Gov. Chris Christie (NJ), Gov. Rick Scott (FL), Gov. Rick Perry (TX), and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Pence was born and raised in Columbus and graduated from Columbus North High School, went on to graduate from Hanover College in 1981 and earned his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1986.

He has three children with his wife Karen: Michael, Charlotte and Audrey.
