Veterans charity seeks help after trailer stolen

Trailer stolen from Operation Injured Soldiers in South Lyon

SOUTH LYON, Mich. – Operation Injured Soldiers is asking for help after a trailer full of expensive equipment was stolen from their office.

Alan Hogan is a volunteer with the non-profit organization providing recreational rehabilitation to veterans with activities like hunting and fishing. Operation Injured Soldiers serves more than 400 veterans. When Hogan arrived at the office inside Parkside Cleaners on Pontiac Trial, one of the trailers was missing.

"It takes the air out of anyone's sails. It's sad that anyone could actually do that," says Hogan.

The 7x12 RC Trailer has a gold RC emblem on the front. It was purchased in December with grant money, and contains a 2013 Polaris Ranger. The green Ranger has a circle decal on the hood and has very few hours on it. The loss totals $14,000.

Anyone with information regarding the stolen trailer is asked to contact South Lyon Police at (248) 437-1773, or Operation Injured Soldiers at (248) 437-1144.
