Victim struck with collapsible baton in MSU robbery attempt

Police have identified suspect

EAST LANSING, Mich. – One person was injured Wednesday night at Michigan State University during an attempted armed robbery in Wilson Hall at 7:54 p.m.

Authorities say the victims were in a room when the suspect accused them of stealing money from the room earlier and demanded repayment. The suspect hit one of the victims with a collapsible baton, causing minor injuries, according to officials.

The suspect threatened to further assault the victims throughout the interaction.

The suspect has been identified and MSU Police are requesting a warrant to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office for review.
