VIDEO: Gas station robbed at gun point in Waterford Township

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identify a man responsible for an armed robbery in Waterford Township.

The robbery happened Monday at about 7:15 a.m. at the Marathon gas station on Cooley Lake Road.

A man armed with a handgun entered the gas station and pointed the gun at the clerk, motioning for him to open the cash register. The clerk complied and the armed robber made off with about $800.

The man fled the gas station on foot. A K9 officer tracked a scent down a nearby residential street where it is believed the man fled in a white SUV.

The robber was described as white, between 25 to 30 years old, and was wearing baggy blue jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt with an old English “D” on the front with the words “Team of Destiny.”
