Rescuers use crane to lift man out of enclosure

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – A man was rescued from a construction site Wednesday afternoon at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills.

Rescuers used a crane to get a worker out of what appears to be some kind of trench at the construction site.

Watch the rescue video below.

The construction site is on hospital property near Grand River Avenue just north of 8 Mile Road and west of Inkster Road.

The man was on a stretcher and lifted out of the enclosure after he was hooked up to the crane. More than a dozen construction workers watched as firefighters lowered the man to safety. Video shows the workers applauding as the man is lowered to the ground.

The man was taken away in an ambulance.

His condition is not known at this time. It's unclear how he got trapped and for how long.
