SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A police dash cam caught an officer catching a 4-year-old child that was dropped from a second-story apartment building Tuesday at the Crystal Lake Apartments as smoke filled the unit.
A Shelby Township official said the police and fire department had to assist in evacuating residents from the complex, including a man and his dog, who also escaped from a balcony.
Several police officers reportedly inhaled smoke during the evacuation of resident from the apartments, but none required medical attention.
