Vigil planned after eldery couple slain in apparent West Michigan break-in

David Bouwman, 81, along with wife Vivian Bouwman, 80, found dead Saturday in Grand Rapids suburb

KENTWOOD, Mich. – A candlelight vigil is planned for a West Michigan husband and wife in their 80s found slain after an apparent break-in at their home.

The vigil is Tuesday night at Pinewood Park in Kentwood.

Police say 81-year-old David Bouwman and 80-year-old Vivian Bouwman were found dead Saturday morning at a house in the Grand Rapids suburb.

Police say they apparently died from gunshot wounds. Investigators suspect that at least one person broke in.

Police say they discovered the couple's burned-out gold Cadillac DeVille in neighboring Wyoming, which led them to the house and the discovery of the killings.
