Body in closet: Warrant issued for parolee in Pontiac woman's death

Marie Colburn suffocated; Ex-boyfriend Kevin Wiley wanted

PONTIAC, Mich. – Police are looking for a 34-year-old parolee in connection with the death of a Pontiac woman whose body was found stuffed in a closet.

The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office has issued a warrant with a first-degree murder charge for Kevin Wiley. Wiley is on parole after being convicted of manslaughter in a Wayne County case, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections. The MDOC also said he has cut his tether off.

Marie Colburn was suffocated, the medical examiner said.

Her body was found last Friday in her Pontiac home on Ridgemont Drive when her mother went to check on her.

“That sight will never leave my head. I will never, ever, ever really get past that," her mother, Cynthia Simmons, said. "I opened up the coat closet and that's when I found her."

Police said they found Colburn's car abandoned in Detroit.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to Wiley's arrest and conviction.
