Waterford man arrested, charged in fatal crash with Michigan State Police trooper

Charles Warren charged in crash that killed Chad Wolf

CLARKSTON, Mich. – A 69-year-old Waterford man is charged in connection to a crash Aug. 28 which killed Michigan State Police Trooper Chad Wolf, who was on patrol with his department-issued motorcycle.

Wolf, 38, died hours after he was struck on Interstate 75 by a car hauling a trailer and dragged for miles in northern Oakland County. He had been a trooper since 2008.

Charles Raymond Warren Jr. was arrested Friday and charged with reckless driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident, both felony counts. If convicted, Warren faces a maximum of 15 years in prison on each count. He was released on a $100,000 bond.
