Waterford man facing child pornography charges

Virgil Napier Jr. recorded adolescent girls he met online in sexually explicit poses, according to criminal complaint

WATERFORD, Mich. – A Waterford man admits to creating 100 to 200 pornographic videos involving adolescent girls he met in online chat rooms, according to a federal criminal complaint against him.

The complaint, which was filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Detroit, charges Virgil Napier Jr. with one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

According to the complaint, investigators executed a search warrant at Napier's home on Nov. 16 after learning he was accessing files from a website known to contain child pornography.

During an interview with investigators, Napier said he engages in child pornography and has used online chat rooms to convince girls, ages 10 to 14, to pose in sexually explicit positions so he can record them, according to the criminal complaint. He has also broadcasted the videos to others.

Investigators said Napier showed them his computer, which had several child pornography images on it and links to videos.
