Waterford police release surveillance video of thief swiping cash from Jeep

WATERFORD, Mich. – A surveillance camera at a home in Waterford has captured two people checking the doors of parked cars in a driveway.

The incident happened just before 3 a.m. on Dec. 13 in the 6400 block of Cloverton Drive.

The video, which was released to the media by police, shows two people -- who appear to be teens -- checking the doors of a Jeep and Dodge pickup truck that are parked in the driveway.

Police said the Jeep was unlocked and the thief stole $5 from the center console. The pickup truck was locked.
