WAYNE, Mich. - The owner of the William C. Franks Furniture Store, the site of a deadly explosion in December, was released from the hospital Monday.
Paul Franks had been hospitalized at the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor since December 29.
The blast leveled the furniture store, killing employees James Zell and Leslie Machniak.
Last week, the Wayne Police Department released 911 recordings and videos from the explosion.
The audio recordings reveal how police and fire officials scrambled to get to those inside the store, while trying to keep peace outside.
The dispatch calls also reveal efforts by Warren and Sondgerath to coordinate the many area police and fire agencies who lent support to the operation.
