The National Weather Service forecasts a near certainty of rain during the morning hours of Labor Day in the Mackinaw City area. The walk is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. in St. Ignace.

Thunderstorms and lightning remain a possibility and could force a delay or cancelation of the bridge walk.

People hoping to participate in the five-mile walk across the bridge should take precautions and dress appropriately.

Before heading to the event, check weather reports, MDOT, and the Mackinac Bridge Authority.
