Weather: Temps climb Tuesday afternoon in metro Detroit

Temperatures continue to rise this week with chances for rain, thunder

DETROIT – The conditions are improving greatly and the rest of your Tuesday brings a balance of sun and clouds and temps climbing into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees.

Winds from the west-northwest at 7-15 miles per hour are not having a great influence on our temps and the radar shows a few very light returns scattered about lower Michigan. For that reason, we can't rule out a quick sprinkle or light shower later this afternoon or evening. But, most of the rest of the day is dry and comfortable.

Wednesday looks like another good day with a cool start in the low 30s rebounding with sunshine and mild temps.

60s on Thursday

On Thursday we will see temperatures shoot into the mid 60s with warm winds cranking from the southwest at 15-25 miles per hour or stronger. There is also a chance for rain and thunder Thursday afternoon possibly lingering into early Friday.

Friday forecast:

Friday looks like a dry day and a very nice end to the work and school week. Temperatures around SE Michigan will stay mild, just north or south of 60 degrees later this week and into the weekend.

Weekend forecast:

Right now, Saturday looks dry and the better of the two weekend days hitting the low 60s with sunshine mixed with patchy clouds. We will see some rain and thunder around on Sunday as we climb back into the mid 60s.
