Westbound I-94 at 12 Mile reopens after crash

Vehicles were diverted off freeway at Gratiot Avenue

ROSEVILLE, Mich. – The westbound lanes of I-94 near 12 Mile Road reopened Saturday night after a crash with multiple injuries reported.

The single-vehicle crash happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday, according to Roseville police.

A red SUV flipped over and came to a rest about 1,000 feet from people's backyards. Nearby residents said they were horrified by what they saw.

Residents on Melvin Street in Roseville said they saw a massive emergency response.

Vehicles were diverted off the freeway at Gratiot Avenue for hours before the westbound lanes reopened late Saturday night.

Michigan State Police was investigating to see what may have led up to the crash.
