Westland Police holding bone marrow drive

WESTLAND, Mich. – Several Officers from the Westland Police Department have shaved their heads to show support for the daughter of a fellow Westland Officer who has been diagnosed with leukemia.

The department along with bethematch.org is holding a bone marrow drive Wednesday at City Hall from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Volunteers are required to be 18-44 and in general good health.  They will swab their mouth and be added to the national registry as a potential donor.

Westland Police K9 Hemi along with various vehicles from the department will also be at the event for volunteers to interact with.
