Stranger danger reports surface in Westland

Police are reporting two incidents in last week

WESTLAND, Mich. – Westland Police are reporting two stranger danger incidents that happened this week in the same apartment complex.

Police say both incidents happened at The Landings Apartments, near Warren Road and Central City Parkway.

The first incident happened Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 4 p.m. At that time, a gray minivan, possibly a Chrysler Town & Country, pulled up to a 15-year-old boy. The driver inside then asked the boy sexually explicit questions. The boy walked away without further incident.

The driver is described as a black man in his late 20s, with a beard and a medium, muscular build. He was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

At the same time on Thursday, a similar gray minivan was spotted at the apartment complex. The woman who called police says the man in the van was acting suspiciously, while she was waiting for her child to get off the school bus.

Westland police are asking anyone with information on this suspect to contact them at (734) 722-9600.
