FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -

A woman who Farmington Hills police say was offered a ride and food is charged with trying to rob and carjack an 85-year-old man.

Police say 45-year-old Katherine Bolden flagged down the elderly driver in a grocery store parking lot, telling him she needed a ride.

The man let her get into his car and after hearing she was hungry, he offered her a doughnut. Then, police say, the woman demanded money from the man as well as his car.

The two struggled for control of the vehicle until it crashed into boulders at the Muirfield Enclave Apartments. The man suffered cuts to his hands, which may have happened while he was being dragged by the car.

The woman ran off off and was arrested a short time later at the same shopping complex where the sequence of events began.

Katherine Bolden is charged with carjacking and unarmed robbery.  Her bond was set at $250,000.
