Investigators said Broich was working as a bookkeeper at a business in the 43000 block of Woodward Avenue in Bloomfield Township when the company owner reviewed the company's checking account and became suspicious after finding multiple checks issued to Broich.

Bloomfield Township detectives said Broich embezzled more than $1 million over the past six years.

Broich used the money for personal living expenses, including car notes and credit card bills, detectives said.

Broich posted a $250,000 bond and is due back in court on Feb. 6.
