DETROIT – Detroit police say a 30-year-old woman is recovering after being shot during an attempted robbery Tuesday outside a store.
Police said the woman was leaving the store, which is near Plymouth and Meyers, just before noon when a gunman approached her and started firing shots.

The woman, who is a concealed pistol license holder, fired back at the gunman as he fled with another man in a red, rusty Dodge Neon, police said.
The woman was hit by a shot as the crooks drove away, police said.
She's listed in temporary serious condition.
Police didn't release detailed descriptions of the gunmen.
