Woman pulled to ground by would-be purse snatcher in Allen Park

Video shows man sneaking up to woman inside business

ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Allen Park police said a man tried to snatch a woman's purse Wednesday morning as she walked into a business.

Video shows the woman walking through the door at 8:30 a.m. with her purse on her right shoulder, when the man walks in and grabs it, trying to wrestle it from the woman. When the man pulled harder, the woman held on and was pulled off her feet and onto the sidewalk outside.

The man made one last grab for the purse, the woman yanked it away and the man fled.

Police said the woman suffered scrapes and bruises but is not seriously injured.

The victim was walking into a local business when an unknown individual attempted to steal her purse. We are seeking to identify this individual. The victim was not seriously injured, only suffered scrapes and bruises. We will also post a picture of the vehicle this individual was driving.
