Woman punched in face, robbed near EMU campus

Robber took victim's cellphone from pocket

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Ypsilanti police say that a woman was robbed in a parking lot in the 800 block of Green Road Tuesday at around 11:45 p.m.

The woman, a non-Eastern Michigan University student, said that she parked her car in the parking lot and was punched in the face, causing her to fall down. The Ypsilanti Police are investigating.

The robber took her cellphone from her pocket and fled the scene on foot, authorities say.

The victim says the robber is a black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and wearing a white sweatshirt, blue jeans and wristbands on his right wrist.
