A family is begging for justice after their loved one was killed in a hit-and-run.
Darlene Yeargin was hit by a car while walking along Puritan & Asbury Park on Detroit's west side Thursday evening.
Yeargin was on her way to Lighthouse Cathedral Church, which is just around the corner from her house.
Every Thursday the grandmother of six spent her evenings volunteering at the church, helping the needy.
Yeargin didn't make it there Thursday night; she was fatally struck by a vehicle.
Her family can't fathom how someone could be so callous.
"They didn't bother to stop," said Shawnteia Yeargin, Darlene Yeargin's niece.
Those who knew Darlene Yeargin said she made everyone around her happier, from her family to strangers on the street.
"She was amazing. She was so funny and charismatic," said Sheronda Yeargin, Darlene Yeargin's niece.
The family is hoping police track down the person who took Darlene Yeargin away from them.
