Macomb County Sheriff investigating death

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Macomb County Sheriffs are investigating a scene near Van Dyke and 28 Mile Road in the parking lot of the Washington Mobile Home Park in Washington Township.

The body of a female was discovered by someone driving by.

"A vehicle traveling on Van Dyke noticed the body laying in the parking lot there and went and checked it out and gave us a call," said Sheriff Anthony Wickersham.

The victim is described as a white female between 25-35 years old. She is about 5'2" 120 pounds. She was wearing blue jeans, a tan shirt, brown leather jacket and a white scarf.

"At this point, we don't have any identification and we'll be working this as an active crime scene," Wickersham said.

It's unlcear if the woman is the victim of a hit and run or if something happened to her at another location and her body was left there.

"We've been canvassing the mobile home community and at this point there's no identification that she lives there but we still have a lot of work to do in the case."

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Macomb County Sheriffs Department.
