WOODHAVEN, Mich. - A Woodhaven gas station was evacuated Wednesday afternoon due to a report of a suspicious package.

The Woodhaven police and Michigan State Police Bomb Squad investigated the item and found nothing threatening.

The Shell gas station is across the street from the Woodhaven Police Department. The intersection of Hall and West roads was temporarily shut down during the investigation. It has since reopened.

The package under investigation was near the garbage cans in front of the gas station store. Someone at the station saw the item and decided it was suspicious enough to notify police.
