GROSSE POINT, Mich. -- For one Grosse Pointer he is saving big bucks on his brand new transportation.
John Auld drives around running errands in his golf cart.
“We’re saving about $80 to $100 a month in gas,” said Auld.
For Auld it was a fun project to start with the kids, but then turned out to be something fuel-efficient.
After he converted his low speed vehicle, he licensed it with the Secretary of State.
His cart doesn’t use any gasoline, but runs completely on electric power and also is tricked out with gadgets and gizmos.
Because of this experience, Auld decided to start a business selling costumed made golf carts.
“We’re quickly trying to come up to speed and offer an affordably priced product to people around here who feel it is a fit for them and their communities,” said Auld.
However, safety might be an issue and he makes sure his son Charlie is buckled up in a safety seat.
The vehicle is not intended for highway driving, but it is perfect for roads with speeds of 25 mph or less. To e-mail Auld,
