Donna Waldrup's daughter wrote the letter that led her mother to the finals of the Golden Globe Glamour Makeover.

Wadlrup told Local 4 that she hasn't experienced feeling pretty since a devastating accident when she was a child that left her scarred over 40 percent of her body.

"I think I know what the little beauty contestants feel like cause it's nerve racking," she said about waiting to hear the results.

But Local 4/ClickOnDetroit.com viewers overwhelmingly picked Waldrup of Ypsilanti as the Golden Globe makeover winner. She and her daughter, Jennifer, are headed to the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills and the Golden Globe awards.

Here's her daughter's winning letter:

Donna Waldrup
I can imagine the response to the Golden Globe Glamour Makeover contest has been huge. However, when I saw this contest, I knew I had to write to you about my mom, Donna. I have wanted for so long to enter my mom in a contest like this but never have. I guess I was waiting for the perfect one , which I believe this to be. My mom is so deserving of this makeover. Since she was 9, when 40% of her body suffered 3rd degree burns from a Halloween costume that caught on fire, she has dreamed of feeling glamorous and beautiful. Thank you for you consideration. Jennifer from Ypsilanti
