Two Big Names Added To All-Star Series Roster

New York, NY -- (Sports Network) - Carlos Beltran of the New York Mets and Jermaine Dye of the Chicago White Sox have been tabbed to join 25 fellow major leaguers when they face the best in Japanese baseball in the newly created "All-Star Series 2006" next month.
Beltran hit a career-high 41 homers to go with 116 RBI and 127 runs for the NL East division winners. Dye had a monster 2006 as well, hitting .315, going deep 44 times and driving in 120 runs.
The duo joins the roster that will take on a group of Nippon Professional Baseball All-Stars in a series that will take place between November 3rd and 8th, with five games scheduled across Japan. The MLB team will also face the Yomiuri Giants in a pre-tournament game on November 2nd.
