MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks have fired head coach Terry Stotts, general manager Larry Harris announced Wednesday.
An interim coach will be named before Thursday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs.
"Terry has done the best he could in a difficult situation, especially with all of our injuries. I felt it was in the best interest of our ogranization to make the decision now and move forward rather than wait until the end of the regular season," Harris said.
In less than two season as head coach, Stotts has a 63-83 record, including a trip to the 2006 NBA Playoffs.
Stotts spent the 2004-2005 season as the lead assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors. Prior to that, he spent two seasons in Atlanta.
He was lead assistant in Milwaukee for four years.
