Michigan ended last season with a disappointing loss to USC in the Rose Bowl.The Wolverines started their 2007 campaign on the losing side again, this time getting upset by Appalachian State 34-32."I've never been part of a loss that wasn't miserable," Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr said.
The fifth-ranked squad took a 14-7 lead after the first quarter, but then trailed 28-17 at the half.
