Nashville, TN -- (Sports Network) - Martin Erat's pair of goals led Nashville past Detroit, 3-1, at Sommet Center.

Jason Arnott also tallied for the Predators, who have won six consecutive games. Pekka Rinne stopped 31 shots for the victory.

"It's always a tough time when we play Detroit," said Erat. "But we played our type of game tonight and were able to come out on top."

Drew Miller provided the only offense for the Red Wings, who have dropped three of four. Chris Osgood yielded all three goals on 25 shots for the loss.

"We didn't have our legs in the first period," said Miller. "We played better in the second and third periods, but it wasn't enough to win the game."

Erat's second of the contest came with 2:20 left in regulation, as he accepted a pass from Jordin Tootoo in the slot, turned toward the net and beat Osgood with a clean, quick wrister.

Detroit went with an extra skater for the final 1:21, and could have cut its deficit to one inside the last minute but Henrik Zetterberg's chance clanged off the crossbar.

Erat narrowly missed the empty net for a hat trick seconds later and the Preds denied any further Wings chances until the buzzer.

Nashville took a 1-0 lead on the power play with 9:36 left in the first period when Arnott swept in a rebound from the top of the crease.

Erat doubled the Preds' advantage at 1:41 of the second period when he ripped a one-timer home from a Joel Ward dish, but the Wings came back at 6:38 as Miller snaked his way to the net for a forehand stuffer.

Nashville has taken five of seven meetings, including four of six a year ago...The Predators have won 10 of their last 12 games after beginning the season 3-6-1...Erat's last multi-goal game came on October 18, 2008 against Columbus.
