PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Five Plymouth Whalers were selected in the 2014 NHL Draft held this past weekend.
Plymouth tied the Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen and Edmonton Oil Kings with five players taken in the 2014 NHL Draft, the most of any CHL team. The OHL's Sault Greyhounds and Niagara IceDogs -- along with the WHL's Portland Winterhawks and Kootenay Ice -- had four players taken.

Goalie Alex Nedeljkovic was taken in the 2nd round (37th overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Right wing Connor Chatham was taken in the 3rd round (71st overall) by the New Jersey Devils.
Defenseman Alex Peters was taken in the third round (75th overall) by the Dallas Stars.
Defenseman Josh Wesley was taken in the 4th round (96th overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes.
Left wing Matt Mistele was taken in the 6th round (180th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings
All of them will be at their respective NHL team's training camp, and they're all expected to be back with the Whalers for this upcoming season.
Plymouth's training camp is scheduled for the last week in August, with the team's first preseason game set for Saturday, Aug. 30 against Windsor.
After opening the 2014-15 season on Friiday, Sept. 26 in London, the Whalers host Erie in the home opener on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7:05 p.m. at Compuware Arena.
