Kalamazoo, MI -- Joe Reitz scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Western Michigan Broncos to a 68-59 win over the Ball State Cardinals in a Mid-American Conference contest.

Derek Drews added 14 points in the win for the Broncos (7-11, 4-4 MAC). Andrew Hershberger chipped in with 12 points and Stane's Bufford had 10.

Maurice Ackerman scored 15 points and handed out six assists in the loss for the Cardinals (6-10, 2-6).

The Broncos shot 40 percent from the field in the first half to build a slim 31-29 lead at intermission.

Western Michigan converted 13-of-18 free throws in the second half to secure the nine-point victory.

The Broncos won the battle inside, outscoring the Cardinals 28-14 in the paint.
