DETROIT -

"It's going to be one of the busiest weekends in Detroit, " is how Jerome Bryant of Detroit Cab Company describes the city for games 3, 4 and 5 of the World Series.

Jerome is a retired auto company worker, now driving a cab - but also acting as ambassador, showing visitors points of interest & hospitality.  But with the World Series, Lions home game, and Fox Theatre events does this veteran of big events think the city is ready?

"It's gonna be an influx of so many people in the downtown area is it going to make it tough - especially with heavy traffic."

Meantime, downtown hotels are booked, buildings are lit with Tigers pride and ‘Welcome’ signs are posted.

300 Convention and Visitors Bureau volunteers will be handing out maps and pretty cool and colorful beads - making for a party like atmosphere.

Michael O'Callaghan of the Detroit Convention and Visitors Bureau said, "It's our attempt to welcome people to our city with beads and buttons."
