When it comes to greeting out of town guests in Detroit for the World Series, the city is hoping you’ll pitch in!
The Detroit Tigers will take on the San Francisco Giants at Comerica Park on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The Detroit Convention and Visitors Bureau will have volunteers out around town giving out buttons and information about the best places to visit.
The Department of Transportation is planning a clean-up of I-94 to make sure there’s no trash along the sides of the roadway.
Businesses in downtown Detroit are also being asked to keep their lights to help illuminate the city. Any business that also has an LED or ticker board is asked to displaying a welcoming message, sans logos.
Detroit police, Michigan State Police, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, U.S. Coast Guard and Homeland Security are all leading the charge to keep everyone safe.
