Terrell Owens has not had any success in his attempts to get back into the NFL, and now he's facing legal problems.
He did not show up on Thursday for a scheduled court appearance regarding child support payments, and he could be facing a jail sentence, according to WSBTV.com.
According to the report, Owens is $20,000 behind on child support payments, and his failure to appear in court in Atlanta on Thursday did not sit well with Judge John Goger.
The case was rescheduled for July 19, and Owens could face jail time if he does not appear in court that day.
Owens' attorney, David Hartin said it was his fault Owens was not in court Thursday, because he did not communicate properly with his client.
Melanie Smith, the mother of Owen's 7-year-old daughter, said Owens has not made child support payments in months. A previous agreement required Owens to pay Smith $5,000 per month.
