Report: Fan throws peanuts at Indians' Brandon Inge, fight breaks out
Toledo Blade says fan escorted out of Fifth Third Field
A Toledo Mud Hens fan was kicked out of the ballpark Tuesday for allegedly throwing peanuts at former Detroit Tiger Brandon Inge.
The Toledo Blade cited eyewitness reports that the fan was heckling Inge, who now plays for the Pirates Triple-A affiliate, the Indianapolis Indians, and eventually went over to the railing to exchange words with him.
"A number of Inge’s teammates came to his defense, with several attempting to jump the railing that separated them from the fan," the newspaper reported.
The fan was then escorted out from Fifth Third Field.
Inge was with Detroit from 2001 - 2012 before going to the Oakland Athletics and then the Pirates.
