Woman sues Dallas Cowboys for bench burns
Lawsuit: Woman suffered third-degree burns on her buttocks
A woman is suing the Dallas Cowboys because she says she received third-degree burns on her buttocks from a bench outside Cowboys Stadium two years ago, multiple media outlets reported.
The woman, Jenelle Carrillo, said she sat on the marble bench before a Cowboys scrimmage in August 201. The bench had been exposed to the sun, and temperature reportedly exceeded 100 degrees that day.
"She knew, while she was there at the stadium, that she had received some burns. But she didn't realize how serious they were until she received medical attention," attorney Michael Walsh told CBS affiliate KDFW in Dallas-Forth Worth.
Walsh said Carrillo was "hospitalized for about a week (and) had some very serious injuries."
He said she later had to have skin grafts.
She is seeking unspecified damages for mental anguish, physical pain and disfigurement.
