DETROIT – Detroit Tigers' pitcher Justin Verlander will start for the American League Tuesday at the All-Star Game.
The 29-year-old is 9-5 with a 2.58 ERA in 18 starts this season.

Prince Fielder of Detroit will start at first base. He was the MVP of last year's All-Star game while playing in the NL for Milwaukee. Detroit slugger Miguel Cabrera was also named to the team.
